Dangar Island Bowling Club is a water access only establishment situated on a picturesque bush covered rock in the late stages of the Hawkesbury River.
The Bowling Club is managed by a generous group of volunteer Directors, a volunteer groundsman, and a very small, hard working team of bar and kitchen staff, dedicated to serving local residents and visitors with great wholesome food and a range of refreshing drinks, keeping local bowling traditions alive and acting as a hub through our range of annual events and monthly program of high quality live music presentations.
Getting to the island is by Water Taxi or Public Ferry from Brooklyn.
The Water Taxi can be booked by calling 0422 300 100.
The Ferry timetable can be found HERE.
Getting to Brooklyn is also easy by car, taking the Brooklyn/Mooney exit of the M1.
Hawkesbury River Station is a 150m walk from the ferry wharf and has regular services south from Newcastle and Gosford and North from Central.
Our famous Open Mic Night happens on the first Friday of every month and we also present monthly Sunday afternoon concerts featuring established artists. If the weather's fine, these are staged in the park next to the club.
We pride ourselves on using locally sourced produce wherever possible to create fresh and funky Gastropub style meals. As well as the best gourmet burgers and fish'n'chips on the river, we always feature a number of delicious specials every week.
