Bowling

The Bowling Green is used every week by a contingent of keen island bowlers, and we sometimes see visiting teams from surrounding clubs making the journey across the water to play. The green is maintained by volunteer Matt Johnson, who works wonders with extremely limited resources to keep the surface playable.

Barefoot bowls is popular with visitors to the island and our greens are generally open for a game by appointment.

There is no charge for members of the club and guest bowling is $10 a head, with all equipment provided.

We have a large contingent of keen Dangar resident bowlers and they generally play on Sunday afternoons, so this is the only time the green is unavailable to guests.

It's all very casual, barefoot (thongs recommended during bindi season) and beer glasses are welcome on the grass.

Fun guaranteed - there really is no better way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon.
